hip labrum and fai along with sports hernias

this is in a debate of sorts. there are many people who have both labral tears (either due to femoroacetabluar impingement, or perhaps the fai is a result of labral tear) and sports hernias.
which came first? some say the sh can lead to labral tears, some say the other way around.
either way, many people out there have labral tears and no symptoms. i myself had a labral tear in one out of 2 mris and a ct scan and nuclear bone scan showed nothing wrong with the hip.
the hip specialists as well as other sports docs said to leave it alone.
i had the sh surgery done 1st. as i am still recovering over a year later, i wonder if it is the hip. but then i know that if i undergo more sugery before my muscles are restored in strength and balance, the hip surgery would only screw things up.
anyhow, here is an article on hip fai...
http://www.hipfai.com/
who really knows the connection to sports hernias. there are so many soccer players who have had sprots hernia surgeries, you'd figure that there would be a few dozen labral tears in the mix as well. but they are good to go after surgery. it might be also important to note that these athletes are most often diagnosed very early, thus are in good shape when they go into surgery, perhaps leading to an easier recovery.

what do you know about sports hernias in women?
i've had what sounds like an SH for almost 2 years now - had lap for endometriosis, found nothing, pt, acupuncture for sciatica, and alot of running around to dr's with no luck. also had hip mri, only found small cyst in pectineus muscle, nothing else. colonoscopy even but found nothing. pulled out my back severely for three weeks or so after lap.
pain is sharp/dull on left pubic bone area, also in left hip/buttocks as if it were sore or sciatica, tight psoas and iliacus(sp?) , sometimes pain generates deep into buttocks by tailbone. sometimes in left lower back dull as well.
stretching/yoga relieves temp the butt stuff but can cause sharp pelvis/pubic pain. walking/carrying stuff makes it worse, too.
i was super active running/boxing/ and working as a camera person holding heavy equipment on right side, prob compensating on left.
pt says hips are unstable..

does this sounds like SH? if so, what do i do? I am in ny. trouble is because i am pregnant, cant really have anymore x-rays or mri's.

any ideas???

sorry about late reply...
go see dr meyers or even better, email dr muschaweck at info@hernien.de
maybe she can help.

after your baby is born, get the proper xrays for hip fai.

i can recommend seeing dr kelly at hosp for special surgeries in nyc for the hip fai.

If you have a sports hernia (or groin pain in general) and can get to the UK please see David Lloyd...

http://www.lloydrelease.com/david-lloyd/

He is very good.

DO NOT visit Jerry Gilmore.... he is about 20 years behind regarding technology and knowledge.

Take this from someone who's been there and done that and an expert on the subject.

(I'm posting this under every subject heading as it's very important and potentially life changing)

I don't know anything about the US and I don't know if you have a sports hernia. If you have pain in the groin then it's likely that Dr Lloyd could sort it out. I have had surgery 3 times (second time with Jerry Gilmore) and have had problem for 6 years. Surgery with Lloyd was 4 days ago and my groin already feels better than before I went.
